SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The Lady Cobras softball team fell to Lincoln Memorial University 1-0 and to Catawba College 6-3 on Sunday in their final day of play at the Mid-South Classic in Spartanburg, S.C. The losses drop Coker to 5-8 on the year and give them a 1-4 record on the weekend.

In game one, Sydney Greenwalt (Edwardsville, Ill.) (4-4) took the loss even though she held the Rail Splitters of Lincoln Memorial to just one run on one hit in six innings of work.

At the plate, Ashely Coleman (Charleston, S.C.) was 2-for-3 , while Jaclin Poole (Clover, S.C.) was 2-for-2. Haleigh Rogers (Ward, S.C.) and  Bri Jacobs (Bolton, N.C.) each had a hit for the Lady Cobras.

In game two, Anna Oswald (Lexington, S.C.) had two hits including a home run, with Miranda Klees (Murrells Inlet, S.C.) also collecting two hits and two RBIs in the Lady Cobras 6-3 loss. Brittany Owens (Johnsonville, S.C.) and Poole were each 1-for-3.

Beck Dillon (West Palm Beach, Fla.) (1-2) picked up the loss going seven innings, allowing four runs on seven hits with three strikeouts.

The Lady Cobras will take a much needed couple days of rest before returning to action on Friday, March 12 when Coker hosts West Library State in a non-conference double-header starting at 2:00 p.m.
