Hartsville, S.C. – The Lady Cobras softball team snapped their three game losing streak, by holding the St. Augustine College Falcons scoreless over ten innings of play, while scoring 28 total runs in two games, winning game one 19-0 and game two 9-0. The wins improve Coker to 3-3 on the year, while St. Augustine falls to 0-4.

Shelly Catlett (Orangeburg, SC) (2-1) earned the win in game one, while Sydney Greenwalt (Edwardsville, IL) (1-1) brought home the victory in game two. Catlett allowed just two hits in three innings of work, while striking out six and Greenwalt gave up just two hits in four innings with four strikeouts.

Leading the offensive attack in game one were Brittney Owens (Johnsonville, SC) and Julia Nelson-Abbot (Evans, GA), as they both were 2-for-3 with four RBIs. Anna Oswald (Lexington, SC) was 2-for-4 with a home run and three RBIs and Shannon Mitchell (Virginia Beach, VA) was 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Also collecting multiple hits were with an RBI were Whitney Wallett (Shermans Dale, PA), Becky Dillon (West Palm Beach, FL) and Allie Bragg (Cassett, SC).

In the second game, it was Mitchell going 2-for-2 with an RBI that led the Lady Cobras at the plate, while Ashley Coleman (Charleston, SC) was 1-for-1 with two RBIs and Owens was 1-for-3 with an RBI.

Coker returns to the field on Tuesday, as they host Newberry College in a non-conference double-header starting at 2:00 p.m.
