Wilson, NC- The Coker Cobras won their third CVAC contest of the weekend, as they swept Barton College with scores of 3-2 and 5-2 on Sunday afternoon. With the pair of victories Coker improves to 27-9 overall, and 10-4 in the CVAC.

 

In game one, Shelly Catlett (9-2) earned the win going 5 1/3 innings, allowing one run on five hits, with five strike outs. Somer Bigham (2) picked up her second save of the season, coming on in relief for an inning and two thirds of work allowing a run on two hits with three strike outs.

 

Eunice Nettles led the Cobras going 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Anna Lucas was also 2-for-3.

 

Bigham (18-7) earned the win in game two throwing eight innings, allowing two runs, with four strike outs and three walks.

 

Leading hitters for Coker were Lucas, going 2-for-3; Allie Bragg, going 1-for-3 with a two RBIs; and Katie McCauley was 1-for-4 with an RBI.

 

Coker’s next games will be on Saturday, March 31 at home against Queens University starting at 2:00 p.m.
