Hartsville, SC- The Coker Softball Team outscored the Shaw Bears 59-1 in their non-conference double header Monday, afternoon in woman’s collegiate softball. The Lady Cobras won game one 31-1 and then won game two 28-0. With the wins Coker is now 10-3 on the season.

 

Between both games, every Coker player scored at least once, while Somer Bigham (8-3) earned the win in both games, throwing a combined eight innings, allowing no runs, while striking out 17 batters.

 

Leading the Coker offense was Kimberly Atkinson, going 5-for-7 with four home runs, 10 RBIs and six runs scored. Also having a big day for Coker was Anna Lucas going 4-for-6 with two doubles and five runs scored, while Eunice Nettles was 6-for-8 with two doubles and nine runs scored. Katie McCauley was 4-for-5 with double and five runs scored.

 

Coker’s next game is on Thursday, March 1, when they host Queens University at 2:00 p.m.
