HARTSVILLE, SC — Coker took a 6-0 win in game one but couldn’t muster enough offense in a 6-3 game two loss to West Liberty State Monday afternoon in collegiate softball.  The Cobras are now 14-12 on the year and host Fairmont State tomorrow afternoon at 2:00.

Sophomore Somer Bigham pitched a no-hitter in game one to deliver the win.  Bigham walked only one and struck out seven for her first no-hitter of the season.

The Cobras took a 1-0 lead in the first when Jacque Stewart doubled in Nicole Crider.  CC added two in the fourth on a double by Eunice Nettles and put three on the board in the sixth on another double by Nettles.

West Liberty started much better in game two against starter Amanda Shelton.  Shelton had a rough outing as the Hilltoppers scored four runs on four hits in the first inning and one run in the second before Bigham returned to the pitching circle.

Coker fought back with one run in the first and two in the second but that would be all in game two.  West Liberty added one more in the fourth to take the three-run victory.

Stewart went 5-7 on the day with a run and one RBI and Nettles finished 4-6 with five RBI and a run scored.  Bigham allowed a total of three hits and one run scored over 12.1 innings pitched with 13 strikeouts.
