Coker Falls Short to Bulldogs

WILSON, N.C.- The Coker men's volleyball team returned from a two-week layoff with a match against Barton College on Tuesday (Feb. 6) night. The Cobras stumbled 3-1 (15-25, 16-25, 25-20, 17-25).

Joao Victor Santos and Gabriel Castro led the Cobras offensively with 11 kills a piece. Stephen Porras followed close behind with his 10 kills. Parker Oldham, Aleksa Bijelic, and Gary Baker combined for the remaining seven kills. Bijelic led the team in assists with 33. Castro, Oldham, Santos, and Bijelic each served an ace. Bijelic and Baker finished with 10 and nine digs, respectively. Santos shined on defense as well with one solo block and assisted on four.

The Cobras combined for 39 kills, 38 assists, four aces, 30 digs, and 12 blocks.

The Navy and Gold continue their six-game road trip with a weekend series in Tennessee against Lincoln Memorial and King (Tenn.) on Friday and Saturday. Both matches will begin at 7:00 p.m.
