HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker College men's volleyball head coach, Julia Rowland, has announced the addition of of Seth Miller and Brandon Ravelo for the 2018-19 season.

Rowland said, "We are really excited about signing these two young men in the early period. It  gives us a great start to the class, and I'm looking forward to adding them to our team in the fall".

Miller is a libero from Mater Dei High School, where he was a part of the Trinity League Championship team from 2015-17 and earned the Coaches Award. Miller received the Presidential Award Bronze Medal for his volunteer hours served in the community, and was a member of the Surf Club. He also played for The HBC 18's volleyball club in Huntington Beach. The Santa Ana, Calif. native, is the son of Jim and Carole Miller and plans to major in physical education.

According to Rowland, "I'm really excited about Seth being a Cobra. The first time I met him he was wearing a Coker jacket and I knew he'd be all in with us! He's a great defensive player and will be a great addition to our program."

Ravelo is a setter/libero from East Coweta High School, where he was a two-time high school state champion. He was also a student assistant for the East Coweta girls' team for three years. Ravelo played for the A5 volleyball club where he participated in 2013​ ​USA​ ​Future​ ​Select​ ​A1​ ​National​ ​Training​ ​Team​ ​Program and the 2014​ ​USA​ ​Select​ ​Continental​ ​Training​ ​Team. His team placed fifth in the 14 Club Division at the 2014 Junior National Championship, had two top-five finishes in national qualifiers, and third at the 2017 Rox Beach National Championship. Ravelo is a member of the honor roll and on track to graduate high school with honors. He was twice invited to travel (with his school) internationally, in France and Costa Rica, due to his reputation and by exemplifying​ ​qualities​ ​of​ ​maturity, responsibility,​ ​and​ ​honesty. The Newnan, Ga. native, is the son of Angela and Ted Ravelo, and plans to major in graphic design and business administration.

Rowland said about Ravelo, "Brandon is an exciting addition. He'll be making a position move, but with his setting background, he'll really be an asset for us on the defensive side of the ball. He is a top notch young man and I'm looking forward to everything he'll bring to our team, on and off the court."

The Cobras begin their 2018 season at Emmanuel (Ga.) on Jan. 12 and their home opener against St. Andrews Jan. 23 at 7:00 p.m.
