Cobras Drop 3-1 Match At Division I Foe George Mason

FAIRFAX, Va. – The Coker College men's volleyball team dropped a 3-1 match at Division I foe George Mason Saturday (Mar. 4) evening.

After dropping the first set 25-21, the Cobras evened up the match score with a tough 29-27 second set victory. The set was tied 27-27, when a kill from Jackson Gilbert and an attack error committed by George Mason gave Coker the exciting second set victory. Next, the Patriots took the next two sets for the match victory.

Joao Victor Santos led the Navy and Gold offensively with a team-best 12 kills. In addition, Sanjae Holloway and Jackson Gilbert made significant contributions on the offensive end with nine kills each. On the defensive end of the ball, Luca Berger had a stellar performance by collecting seven total blocks. Joao Victor Santos also had a great night defensively with six totals blocks, while Sanjae Holloway led Coker in digs with five.

The Cobras will continue their road trip when they travel to Harvard to take on the Crimson at 7 p.m.
