Cobras Take Down Crusaders in Four Sets

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's volleyball team picked up a 3-1 win over the visiting North Greenville University Crusaders on Friday evening (Mar. 18).

The Cobras cruised in the opening two sets, winning them 25-21 and 25-20. The third set was a different story; with the Crusaders mounting their comeback attempt, scoring a 25-21 win to the cut the deficit to 2-1. However, Coker put a quick end to North Greenville's momentum, hitting .520 in the fourth set and winning it 25-18 to take the match 3-1.

Three Cobras finished with 10-plus kills, led by Joao Victor Santos. Santos recorded a match-high 18 kills, to go along with nine digs and three blocks. Artur Cabral belted 17 kills and five service aces, while Luke Hansen finished with 13 kills and six digs. Liam Flaherty led Coker defensively with 13 digs and Aleksa Bijelic paced the Navy and Gold offensively, dishing out 45 assists.

The Cobra will be back in action tomorrow (Mar. 19) at 2 p.m. to take on the visiting Emmanuel College Lions.
