Cobras Fall In Road Matchup Against Limestone

GAFFNEY, S.C. – The Coker College men's volleyball team dropped a road matchup to the Limestone College Saints 3-0 on Saturday afternoon (Jan. 30).

The two teams traded early points in the opening set; however, a 5-0 Limestone run gave them an 11-7 lead. The Cobras began to surge back, cutting the deficit to just one (20-21) after an Artur Cabral kill. However, Limestone would close out the set winning four of the next six points, taking the first set 25-22.

In the second set, Coker surged out to an early 4-1 lead. The Saints began marching their way back into the match; eventually tie it up at 14-14. Limestone proceeded to finish the set on an 11-3 run and win the set 25-17.

Limestone closed out the match, winning the final set 25-21 and winning the match 3-0.

Cabral finished with a team-high 11 kills and a hitting percentage of .421. Luke Hansen belted seven kills while Joao Victor Santos and Leshon Alexander recorded five and four kills apiece. Colton Parsons paced the offense, dishing out 15 assists.

The Cobras will return home on Wednesday (Feb. 3) to take on Bluefield College. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
