Cobras Fall to Crusaders in Straight Sets

BELMONT, N.C. – The Coker men's volleyball team suffered a 3-0 loss to the Belmont Abbey Crusaders on Saturday (Feb. 8) in men's collegiate volleyball action.

The Cobras battled hard throughout all three sets, but errors would be the deciding factor in the outcome of the game. Coker's 30 attack errors in the match allowed the Crusaders to sweep all three sets with scores of 25-19, 25-23 and 25-22.

The Navy and Yellow was led offensively by Jared Geizer's 14 kills and eight digs. Artur Cabral also tallied double-digit kills with 11 and added six digs. Ricardo Ferrer dished out a match-high 35 assists and led the Coker defense with 12 digs, also a match-high.

The Cobras will be back in action on Wednesday (Feb. 12) when they host Barton College. First serve is set for 7 p.m. with live coverage of the match online at www.cokercobras.com
