Hansen's 22 Kills Fuel Cobras Past Bulldogs

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's volleyball team defeated Barton College 3-1 in a Conference Carolinas competition on Saturday (Mar. 30) at Timberlake Lawton Gymnasium.

The Cobras took control early, and jumped out to a 2-0 lead after winning sets one and two 25-23 and 25-18.  Coker then surrendered the third set 25-20, but rallied back in the fourth set by a score of 25-20 to take capture the match. 

Luke Hansen lead the match with 22 kills, falling just short of his season high 24 kills that came against Cairn on March 11.  Hansen had a kill percentage of .421, along with three service aces.

Joining Hansen in double-digit kills was Jared Geizer with 17.  Geizer had a hitting percentage of .393 while collecting six digs.  Defensively, Cooper Lyon had the team high nine digs and James Joseph had the team leading three blocks 

As a team Coker landed 56 kills, earned 53 assists, and had 30 digs with three blocked shots. 

Coker will play its final game of the regular season on Tuesday (Apr. 2) at Belmont Abbey.  The game is scheduled for a 7:00 p.m. start time.
