Coker Men's Volleyball Ready for Home Opener

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The first ever Coker men's volleyball team will have their home opener on Thursday (Feb. 7), against Pfeiffer University in a Conference Carolinas match.  Live video broadcast for the event will be available at www.cokercobras.com

The Cobras are coming off a tough 3-0 loss at Lees-McRae and will be looking to get back on the winning side of the scoreboard against the Falcons.

Luke Hansen has led the Cobras all year, with 45-kills on the season with an average of three kills per set.  Christopher Gbelay is second in the kills category with 33 on the season, followed by Jared Geizer with 29.  Ricardo Ferrer has already racked up 112-assists in four matches, but also has collected 16-kills of his own.  Cooper Lyon leads the team with 22-digs, while Luke Grupe has two blocks.

Pfeiffer is 6-3 on the year with a conference record of 5-1.  The Falcons are led by Caleb Brophy who has 106-kills on the year, and Micah Bortner with 71.

Thursday's game is Cobra Fanatics night.  The first 100 fans will receive a free "Coker Volleyball" tee shirt.  The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start time.
