Baker Breaks Outdoor Pole Vault Record On Day 1 OF South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Championship

The Coker Men's Track & Field team competed in day one of the South Atlantic Conference Outdoor Championship meet.

100m Prelims

In the 100m Prelims, Yazeare Pearsall-Garcia would take 6th for the Cobras with a time of 10.55, which qualifies him for the 100m Finals tomorrow. Jeffrey Stiles would round out the field for the Cobras finishing with a time of 10.74.

200m Prelims

In the 200m Prelims, Pearsall-Garcia would qualify for the 200m Finals tomorrow, finishing 5th with a time of 21.14. Stiles would be the next Cobra to cross the line finishing with a time of 21.77. Donovan Jones would round out the field for the Cobras finishing with a time of 22.00.

400m Prelims

In the 400m, Jones would take the track for the Cobras finish with a time of 49.13.

3000m Steeple

In the 3000m Steeple, Austin Bates would take the track for the Cobras finishing with a time of 11:14.99.

In The Field

Pole Vault

In Pole Vault, Luke Baker would take 9th overall, along with a top ten finish Baker would also break the Outdoor Pole Vault record with a height of 3.92m (12-10.25), previously held by John Smith with a height of 3.81m.

Javelin

In Javelin, William Frazier would earn the top spot for the Cobras throwing a best distance of 43.29m (142-00). Baker would round out the field for the Cobras in Javelin landing a best mark of 38.24m (125-05).
