Men's Tennis Secures SAC Postseason Bid With Win On Senior Day

Hartsville, SC - Men's Tennis grabbed a swift 6-1 victory over the Wasps of Emory & Henry on senior day.

The day started off well on the doubles courts, taking courts two and three to win the point. Samuel Winter and Bernardo Peralta dominated 6-1 on court two while Andy Huyhn and Joao Casas Moreira took a 6-3 win on court three to seal the point.

Numerous wins occurred in singles, as the Cobras took five of the six courts:

  • Tom Lamers won 6-2, 6-2 on court two
  • Winter won 6-2, 6-2 on court three
  • Huyhn won 6-2, 6-4 on court four
  • Casas secured the double bagel (6-0, 6-0) on court five
  • Carlos Fernando Nau won 8-4 in an eight-game pro set

With the win, the Cobras secured the eight-seed in the South Atlantic Conference Tournament and will face off against first-seeded Wingate in round one. The tournament will be held in Sumter, SC at the Palmetto Tennis Center. The match between Wingate and Coker will kick off the action starting at 9:00 AM ET on Thursday, April 18th.
