Men's Tennis Falls In Heartbreaker To Tusculum

Hartsville, SC - Men's Tennis fell in a tough, hard-fought match to the Pioneers of Tusculum today at Byerly Park

The day started off with a doubles point win, propelled by wins on courts one and two. Tom Lamers and Thibaut Decaluwe partnered up on court one to give the Cobras the 6-4 win, while Sam Winter and Bernardo Peralta came together to provide the clinching match to go up 1-0 heading into singles play.

Going into singles, Coker needed three of the six matches to win. They unfortunately came just shy of that goal, winning two of the six and falling 4-3. Singles wins for the Cobras came from courts two and four, with Lamers and Andy Huyhn taking victories over their Tusculum opponents. Lamers triumphed 6-4, 6-4, while Huyhn fought in a ten-point match tiebreak to take a 4-6, 6-2, 10-3 win.

The Cobras are back in action on Wednesday, taking the trip to Limestone for a 1:00 PM first serve.
