Men's Tennis Drops 5-2 Decision to UMO

Hartsville, SC - The Cobras Men's Tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision at home against the Trojans of Mount Olive in a match that was continued from yesterday's rain delay.

The day started off hot for the Cobras, with all three doubles pairs sweeping the competition to head into singles competition up 1-0. Tom Lamers and Thibaut Decaluwe won on court one 7-5, Samuel Winter and Bernardo Peralta won 6-2 on court two, and victory on court three came with a 6-3 win from Andy Huyhn and Joao Casas Moreira.

Coker failed to carry their momentum into singles competition, with only one win being recorded in that regard. Moreira won his match on court five in straight sets, beating his Trojan opponent with a 6-4, 7-6 scoreline.

The Cobras will be back at home on Tuesday, opening conference play against Catawba. The first serve in that match is scheduled for 2:00 PM ET.
