Men's Tennis Drops Heartbreaker To Converse

Sumter, SC - Coker Men's Tennis took a tough 4-3 loss at the hands of the Converse University Valkyries this afternoon. Coker, with a chance to win it at the end, couldn't quite seal the deal to take their first victory of the season.

The Cobras opened the day with doubles, starting off right by securing that point. Samuel Winter and Bernardo Peralta teamed up at second doubles to take the 6-4 win, while Andy Huyhn and Joao Casas Moreira partnered to take down their opponent 6-2 on court three.

Coker secured singles wins on courts five and six, with Moreira winning 6-0, 6-2 on five and Peralta taking the 3-6, 6-4, 6-2 victory on six. Tied 3-3 on the day, Winter was knotted up with his opponent at one set a piece, but ended up dropping the match-deciding set 3-6 to fall to the Valkyries.

Men's Tennis will be back in action tomorrow as they take on Johnson C. Smith up in Charlotte on the road. That match has a first serve time of 1 PM ET.
