Coker Hosts Mars Hill for Final Regular Season Match

HARTSVILLE, S.C.- Coker men's tennis will finish its regular season when they host Mars Hill on Saturday (April 16).

This will be Senior Day and the Cobras will honor William Marrafao and Tom Sizeland.

Sizeland has played three years for the navy and gold, notching double-digit singles wins all three years. He notched 30 total wins as a freshman, and 23 wins as a sophomore. His sophomore season was highlighted by a 13-match singles winning streak that lasted from Feb. 22-Apr. 10.

Marrafao has had an outstanding four-year career with the Cobras, working his way up to the No. 1 slot. Marrafao notched 30 wins between singles and doubles as a freshman, and 23 as a sophomore. As a junior, he won 17 total matches.

The Cobras defeated Brevard 8-1 on back on Sunday (April 10) to improve to 5-5 in South Atlantic Conference play.  Coker swept every match but one wining from No. 2 doubles all the way through No. 6 singles.

Sizeland leads the Cobras in singles play with a 15-3 record, while he and doubles partner Mark Watt are 12-6 in doubles. Also, William Marrafao and Felix Schweyer are 5-5 in doubles play.

Mars Hill is 4-13 overall and 1-9 in South Atlantic Conference competition. The tandem of Markus Gattner and Jorge Nyssen as well as Sam Lee and Alejandre Ozaki are each 2-2 in doubles play on the year.

First serve is set for 1:00 p.m. at the Coker Tennis Courts.
