Coker Men’s Tennis Thumps Eagles in SAC Action

JEFFERSON CITY, TENN. – The Coker College men's tennis team picked up a 7-2 road win over the Carson-Newman University Eagles on Friday afternoon (Mar. 11). The win moves the Cobras to 2-2 in South Atlantic Conference play.

The Cobras held a 2-1 lead after doubles play, thanks to an 8-2 by Tom Sizeland and Mark Watt at No. 2 doubles and an 8-3 win at No. 3 doubles by William Marrafao and Felix Schweyer.

Marrafao continued his strong play, picking up a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 1 singles. Sizeland picked up his fourth straight singles win, cruising to a 6-0, 6-3 win at No. 2 singles. At No. 3 singles, Simon Bergbom notched a 6-1, 6-0 win, while fellow sophomore Watt earned a 7-5, 6-2 win at No. 4 singles. Schweyer rounded things out for the Cobras with a 7-1 win at No. 6 singles.

The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Mar. 19) when they travel to Brevard to take on the Tornados. First serve is set for 2 p.m.
