SALISBURY, N.C. – The Coker Cobras lost a tough 5-4 match to the Catawba Indians on Tuesday (Mar. 17) in South Atlantic Conference men's tennis action.
William Marrafao and Simon Bergbom got the Cobras started with a 9-8 (7-3) win at No. 1 doubles. Bergbom followed with a 6-3, 6-0 win at No. 2 singles. Mark Watt picked up a 6-3, 6-4 win at No. 3 singles and Felix Schweyer was victorious at No. 5 singles, winning 6-1, 6-3. However, it would not be enough as the Cobras narrowly lost the match 5-4.
Coker returns home to Hartsville for its next match on Saturday against Brevard College. The South Atlantic Conference match will begin at 1 p.m. at the Coker Tennis Courts.
