Coker Tennis Falls to Division I Citadel 6-3

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker Cobras suffered a 6-3 loss to the Division I Citadel Bulldogs in college men's tennis on Thursday (Mar. 28). The loss is just the fourth of the season for Coker, dropping the Cobras to 9-4 overall.

The Bulldogs swept past the Cobras in doubles action, but Coker picked up three wins in singles play. James Corfield took care of business at No. 4, defeating his opponent 6-1, 6-2. Picking up the other two wins for the Cobras were Tom Sizeland at No. 2 and Martin Moncayo at No. 6. Both matches were decided in three sets. Sizeland dropped the first set 4-6, but rebounded with a pair of 6-4 wins. Moncayo also lost his first set 4-6, before winning the next two 6-4 and 7-5.

The Cobras will return to the court on Friday (Mar. 29) at home against North Greenville. The match is scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
