Coker’s Marrafao Named Tennis Player of the Week

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – Coker College's William Marrafao has been named the Conference Carolinas Tennis Player of the Week, the league announced today.

Marrafao had a perfect week on the courts, posting a 6-0 combined record between singles and doubles as Coker defeated Barton College, Lenoir-Rhyne University and Pfeiffer University. He went 36-5 in three singles matches and 24-11 in three doubles matches with partner Tom Sizeland.

For the season, Marrafao is 8-2 in singles play and has won eight straight matches. On the doubles side, Marrafao and Sizeland are 7-3 as a team.

Marrafao is a freshman computer science major from Jundiai, Sao Paulo, Brazil. He is the son of Claudinei and Marlene Marrafao.

The Coker men's tennis team has won six straight matches and is 8-2 overall and 4-0 in conference play. The Cobras return to the court Saturday at Presbyterian College.
