Cobras Soar Past Flying Fleet 8-1

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men's tennis team earned a dominating 8-1 win over the Erskine College Flying Fleet on Wednesday afternoon in Conference Carolinas tennis action. The win improves the Cobras to 5-4 in league play.

After a clean sweep of their doubles matches, the Cobras went on to win five of six singles matches.

Leonardo Lima earned a three set victory at No. 1, while Guillermo Aylon picked up the win at No. 2. Manel Estruga took down his opponent at No. 3, 6-2, 6-2 and James Corfield won at No. 4 with scores of 6-2, 6-4. Billy Simpson earned the fifth singles win for the Cobras at No. 6 with scores of 6-0, 6-2.

The Cobras will be back in action on Sunday for their final regular season match of the season. They will travel to Belmont Abbey for a Conference Carolinas match at 1:30 p.m.
