Queens Narrowly Defeats Coker 5-4

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Cobra men's tennis team was narrowly defeated by the Queens University of Charlotte Royals, 5-4, on Sunday afternoon. The loss drops Coker to 3-3 in league play.

Leonardo Lima (Brazil) and Manel Estruga (Spain) opened the match with a 9-7 win at No. 1 doubles. Guillermo Aylon (Spain) and James Corfield (New Zealand) added an 8-2 win at No. 2 doubles.

Estruga and Corfield added two more victories in singles play.  Estruga won at No. 3, 6-1, 6-4 and Corfield earned a 6-2, 7-5 win at No. 4.

Coker will hit the road for their next match on Wednesday at Barton at 2 p.m.
