HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Cobra men’s tennis team suffered a tough loss on Thursday afternoon as they were narrowly defeated by King College 5-4 in a non-conference tennis match.

Coker managed just one win in doubles play, but it was a dominating one as Manel Estruga (Spain) and Juan Vallejo-Gonzalez (Ecuador) defeated their opponents 8-1 at No. 3 doubles.

In singles play it was Estruga who earned another victory, this time at No. 3 with singles where he won in straight sets 6-0, 6-0. Guillermo Aylon (Spain) and Ricardo Perez (Corpus Christi, Texas) also picked up straight set victories in their singles matches at No. 4 and No. 6 singles respectively.

The Cobras have a busy week ahead of them with matches on Saturday (Wingate), Sunday (Mount Olive) and Tuesday (Francis Marion) all at home. Then on Friday they will begin play at the 2011 Conference Carolinas Championship at the Palmetto Tennis Center in Sumter, S.C.
