HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker men’s tennis team dropped their second Conference Carolinas match of the week, as they fell to Erskine College 8-1. The loss drops the Cobras record to 1-8 on the year and 1-8 in conference play.

To start the match the Cobras lost in straight sets in doubles play, with the closest match coming at No.1 doubles, as Evan Schreiner (Seneca, S.C.) and Rick Vliegen (Landgraaf, Holland) lost 8-5.

In singles play, it was Vliegen who picked up Coker’s lone victory of the day. He won at No. 3 singles 7-6, 7-5, to keep the Flying Fleet from sweeping the Cobras.

Coker returns to the hard court on Sunday, as they host another Conference Carolinas rival, Queens University of Charlotte. Both the men’s and women’s teams will begin their matches at 12:30 p.m. on the Coker Tennis Courts.
