WILSON, N.C. – The Coker men’s tennis team dropped their fifth straight match of the season on Tuesday with a 8-1 loss to Barton College in a Conference Carolinas men’s tennis match. The loss drops the Cobras to 0-5 on the year and 0-2 in conference play.

The lone victory for the Cobras came at No.  3 singles with Rick Vliegen (Landgraaf, Holland) picking up his first collegiate victory. Vliegen won in three sets, winning the first set 6-2, he then lost the second set 7-6 (7-5), but he bounced back to take the win with a 10-8 win in the third and final set.

Coker will be back on the courts on Friday, March 12, when the Cobras host George Mason University. Match time is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
