Salisbury, N.C. – The Coker College Men’s Tennis team fell to 0-3 on the year on Thursday, as they lost 9-0 to the Catawba College Indians. Even though the score did not show it the Cobras gave the Indians a run for their money and made them earn every win.

In doubles, Jeremiah Dye (Hilton Head, SC) and Tyler Edwards (Clemson, SC) had the closest match, narrowly losing 8-5, while Ecuadorian connection of Esteban Teran and Juan Vallejo-Gonzalez lost their match 8-4.

In singles play it was No. 3 Evan Schreiner (Seneca, SC) and No. 4 Teran that gave the Catawba players the most trouble with both matches having to go to tie breaker sets to determine the winner. Schreiner took the first set 6-4, before falling 6-3 and then 10-4 in the tiebreaker, then in Teran’s he too won the first set 7-6, but then lost the next two 7-5 and 14-12.
