Hartsville, SC- The Cobra tennis team season came to an end Wednesday night as they fell to the royals of Queens University of Charlotte by a 7-2 margin.  With the loss, the Cobras are eliminated from post season play.

In doubles the Cobras faired well, however they lost two out of three matches.  Jeremiah Dye (Summerville, SC) and Tyson Thompson (Lenoir, NC) picked up the lone victory at No. 3 winning easily 8-2.  Danny Nash (Hilton Head, SC) and Evan Schreiner (Seneca, SC) played a great match but lost in a tiebreaker 9-8 (7-4.

In singles, the lone victory came on the No. 4 court as Die picked up his second win of the day winning 6-0, 7-5.  Senior Hunter Batts (Greenville, NC) played under the lights in a thrilling match but came up on the losing end falling in three sets 7-6 (5), 1-6, (12-10).

The Cobras will now look to the off season in preparation for next year’s season.
