Mt. Olive, NC- The Cobra Men’s tennis team was unable to pick up their first win of the year as they fell to the nationally ranked Trojans of Mt. Olive College. This was the third match of the year in which the Cobra’s faced a nationally ranked opponent.


Mt. Olive took command early as they swept all three doubles matches by scores of 8-2, 8-3, and 8-2. In singles, Mt Olive continued to roll as they won all six matches while only dropping one set. Jeremiah Dye (Summerville, SC) had the best showing for the Cobras as he fell in a third set tiebreak by a score of 6-4, 2-6, (5-10).

The Cobras return to action tomorrow as they travel to take on another Conference Carolinas
opponent in the Barton Bulldogs. The match is slated to start at 1:30pm.
