Charlotte, NC-   The Coker Cobras lost a close match 5-4 to the Johnson C. Smith Golden Bulls.  The Cobras went up two matches to one after doubles as Duncan Grew and James Schroeder rallied from behind to win 8-5.  Tyson Thompson and Tim Morton played well winning 8-3 at No. 3 doubles. 

 

The Cobras then went up four matches to three as Tim Morton and Danny Nash led the way looking strong.  Tim Morton won his match against Jason Stuckey 6-1, 6-4.  Then Nash followed up winning comfortably 6-2, 6-0 over Russell McCoy.  James Schroeder also had a tough battle as he lost his match 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.  The deciding match came down to Dustin Yager at the No. 6 spot.  He won the first set 6-3, but then lost a tiebreaker in the second set, 6-7.  He would then go up 5-3 in the third but his opponent, Frento Burton, fought back winning 7-5 in a tough third set. 

 

The Cobras will face a difficult conference match this weekend, as they host the Barton Bulldogs on Saturday at 1 P.M.
