Conway, SC – Coker Men’s Tennis dropped their first match of the season under the lights of Division 1-A Coastal Carolina 7-0.

It was a big step up in opposition for the Cobras and it showed early with the extra pace and speed coming from the other side of the net. Coastal were strong in doubles and took away an 8-2 win at number 1 doubles and 8-1 wins at number 2 and 3 flight doubles.

Matt Byford played a much improved singles game and lost a tough match 6-3 6-3 at number 1 singles. Unfortunately this was the closest the Cobras would come to a singles win as Coastal Carolina dominated at other singles positions.

The Cobras move to 1-1 for the season and next play CVAC conference rivals Queens University of Charlotte at home, starting at 2pm on Friday, February 17th.
