BELMONT, NC — Coker’s tennis teams traveled to Belmont Abbey Thursday afternoon and pulled of an impressive sweep over the Crusaders.  The men won 7-2 and are 3-2 on the year, while the women moved to 3-3 with a 9-0 win.   

The women had little trouble with a depleted Abbey squad, winning the doubles matches 8-0, 8-1, and 8-0.  Coker’s top duo of Sarah Hickman/Florence, SC and Andrea Santos/Gerber, CA sat out in singles competition which allowed Leilani Alontaga/San Diego, CA and Ashley Schaum/Irmo, SC to step in at five and six singles.  Ashley Pace/Clinton, SC moved up to number-one singles and won 6-2, 6-0 and Jill Smith/Harrisburg, NC won 6-0, 6-3 at number-two singles.
