HARTSVILLE, SC — The Coker men’s tennis team defeated Pfeiffer University 6-3 while the women fell 7-2.  The Cobra men move to 2-2 and 2-1 in the CVAC, while the women drop to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the conference.  

Junior Matt Byford moved to 4-0 on the week by teaming with Duncan Grew for an 8-3 win in doubles and then pulling out a 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 victory at number one singles.  Grew won 7-6, 6-0 at number two singles while Tyson Thompson and Danny Nash both earned three-set singles victories.  Coker’s sixth win of the match came from Thompson and Tim Morton, who won 8-4 in doubles play.
