Cobras Take Control Early in a 9-0 Win

Coker took home the win against Emory & Henry in a soccer match on October 21, 2023, with a final score of 9-0. Emory & Henry, with a season record of 0-13, struggled to keep up with Coker's strong performance. Coker showcased their offensive prowess, scoring four goals in the first half and adding five more in the second half.

The first goal came from Jacques Fokam Sandeu of Coker, who scored unassisted at the 19:06 mark of the game. Fokam Sandeu continued his scoring streak, assisted by Celestin Blondel, to make it 2-0 just two minutes later. Youri Keijser extended Coker's lead to 3-0, with Fokam Sandeu providing the assist. Mitchel Starrs scored the fourth goal of the first half, assisted by Lukas Berntsson.

In the second half, Coker maintained their dominance. Celestin Blondel found the back of the net, assisted by Hykeem Martin, to make it 5-0. Frederic Benedix added another goal, unassisted, increasing Coker's lead to 6-0. Martin scored two more goals, with an assist from Benedix on one of them, pushing the score to 8-0. Rafa Reno scored the final goal of the game, assisted by Connor Duggan, to secure Coker's 9-0 victory.

Defensively, Coker's goalkeeper, Justin Watkins, had a solid performance, making two saves and keeping a clean sheet. Emory & Henry's goalkeeper, Jimmy Duquette, made five saves but couldn't prevent Coker from scoring.

Coker dominated in shots, with 39 attempts, compared to Emory & Henry's three shots.  

The Cobras travel to FMU on Wednesday, October 25.  Game time is 3:30 pm.
