Men's Soccer Drops Game To #19 Limestone

Gaffney, SC - Coker Men's Soccer team suffered a tough loss against Limestone on October 14, 2023. The final score was 3-0 in favor of Limestone, despite Coker's valiant efforts throughout the game.

The match started with high intensity as both teams fought hard to gain control of the game. Limestone took an early lead in the 3rd minute,  finding the back of the net to make it 1-0. This early setback put Coker on the back foot, but they remained determined to make a comeback.

Throughout the first half, Coker had numerous opportunities to equalize, with a total of 8 shots on goal. However, Limestone's defense proved to be resilient, denying Coker their chances of scoring. Coker's goalkeeper, Jasper Rump, also put up a commendable performance, making 3 crucial saves to keep his team in the game.

The second half saw Limestone further their lead and continue to put pressure on Coker's defense. In the 50th minute, they extended their lead to 2-0. Despite their best efforts, Coker was unable to break through Limestone's defense and create any significant scoring opportunities. Limestone scored the third and final goal in the 70th minute, taking advantage of a defensive lapse from Coker.

Coker's players showed great resilience and determination throughout the game, never giving up despite the scoreline. Leonardo Souza and Frederic Benedix had notable performances, each registering a shot on goal. However, their efforts were not enough to overcome Limestone's strong defense.
