Hickory, NC - In an intense men's soccer matchup, Coker University showcased their resilience but ultimately fell short against Lenoir-Rhyne University (LR). The game, held on October 11, 2023 at the Moretz Sports Campus, saw both teams battling it out on the field.

From the beginning, LR took control of the game, scoring the first goal in the 6th minute off a corner kick, giving LR an early lead of 1-0. Despite the setback, Coker refused to back down and fought hard to equalize the game. However, LR's defense proved to be a formidable force, denying Coker any scoring opportunities. LR's goalkeeper made five crucial saves throughout the game, ensuring his team maintained their advantage.

The second half saw LR extend their lead further. In the 67th minute, they capitalized on a long pass, taking the score to 2-0 in favor of LR. Coker's defense struggled to contain LR's offensive plays as they added another goal in the 85th minute. Coker, determined to leave their mark on the game, managed to find the back of the net in the 89th minute. Connor Duggan scored off a rebound, with Jacques Fokam Sandeu providing the assist. Although it was a late consolation goal, it showcased Coker's fighting spirit and refusal to give up.
