Gustavo Palmieri Named South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week

ROCK HILL, S.C. - Coker University senior defender Gustavo Palmieri has been named the South Atlantic Conference Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the league today (Tuesday, Oct. 18). 

Palmieri scored a penalty kick goal and dished out two assists in Coker's 3-1 win over Lenoir-Rhyne last Wednesday (Oct. 12), He also helped Coker's back line to a 1-1 draw against Limestone on Saturday (Oct. 15). For the week, his goal and two assists totaled four points. 

This is Palmieri's second Player of the Week honor this season, and also the second of his career. 

The Sao Paulo, Brazil native is the son of Paulo and Regina Palmieri, and is a business administration major. 

The Cobras (4-1-8, 3-0-5 SAC) return to the pitch tomorrow (Wednesday, Oct. 19) at home against Lincoln Memorial in South Atlantic Conference action. Kick-off is set for 6:30 p.m. from the Coker Athletic Field with video and live stats available at www.cokercobras.com.
