Men's Soccer Plays to 1-1 Draw at Chowan on Wednesday

MURFREESBORO, N.C. - Coker University men's soccer played to a 1-1 draw at Chowan on Wednesday (Sept. 14) in non-conference action. 

The Cobras struck first in the contest just eight and a half minutes in, when Lukas Berntsson found the back of the net off a deflection from Gabin Guillou for his first goal of the season. The Cobras were able to take their 1-0 lead to the half, and well into the second half. Chowan was able to equalize in the 78th minute, when Harri Lovett set up Tren Drexhage for his fourth goal of the season to ultimately bring the match to its final score. 

Coker out-shot Chowan 16-15 in the contest, with two each from Luca Leonini, Ché Richards and Guillou. Felix Stoeffler, Berntsson, Youri Keijser and Celestin Blondel each also registered one shot in the match. Jasper Rump (1-1-4) made four saves between the pipes in the contest. 

The Cobras (1-1-4) return home on Saturday (Sept. 17) to host Tusculum in South Atlantic Conference action. Kickoff is set for 3:00 p.m. from the Coker Athletic Field, with video and live stats available at www.cokercobras.com.
