KANSAS CITY, Mo. – Coker University men's soccer forward Christian Provenzano was named to the United Soccer Coaches' 2019 NCAA Division II Men's Soccer All-Region first team. Provenzano was one of the 15 South Atlantic Conference players named to the All-Southeast Region team.

The junior striker from Bonassola, Italy led the team, and was second in the South Atlantic Conference in goals with 14. He led the conference with nine assists. Christian was named the SAC AstroTurf Offensive Player of the Week for matches played between Sept. 23 – Sept. 29, scoring two goals and one assist, including guiding the Cobras to an upset victory over nationally ranked Lander University on Sept. 25. Provenzano found the back of the net three times while dishing out two assists in the SAC Tournament, which earned him a spot on the SAC All-Conference first team, and the 2019 SAC All-Tournament team. He was named the SPC Credit-Union Coker University Student Athlete of the Month for both September and November.

"This is a great achievement for Christian," said coach Michael Antoniewicz. "This region is one of the strongest in the country for men's soccer and to be recognized in the top 11 players is something very special. It is great to see his hard work be recognized."

He is the son of Antonio and Maria Teresa.
