AUSTIN, Texas - Coker University men's soccer senior forward Riccardo Ricci was named to the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-America® Second Team, announced by the organization today (Wednesday, Dec. 4).

Ricci played in all 18 games for Coker as a senior, making seven starts. He totaled two goals and three assists for seven points on the season. Ricci helped the Cobras advance to the South Atlantic Conference tournament semifinals, where he was named to the South Atlantic Conference All-Tournament Team. In addition, Ricci earned the SAC's Elite 20 award for men's soccer, which honors the student-athlete with the top cumulative grade-point average (based on a minimum of 48 credit hours) in each of the league's 20 team championship sports.

Academically, Ricci was a CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team selection with a 4.0 grade point average in computer science. He was also named to the 2018-19 SAC Commissioner's Honor Roll. He earns his first career Academic All-America honor on the heels of his first Academic All-District honor.

"It is a great achievement for Riccardo," said Coker head coach Michael Antoniewicz. "To be recognized nationally for being a top student athlete is something very special. I am very proud of him and he will be missed by the program. He will be very successful in whatever he does in the future."

The La Spezia, Italy native is the son of Stefano Ricci and Rina Scarazza.
