Coker's Elfares and Jenkinson Named to All-South Atlantic Conference Team

ROCK HILL, S.C. – Coker College men's soccer players Aladdin Elfares and Robbie Jenkinson were named to the 2017 All-South Atlantic Conference team, the league announced today. Elfares was named to the All-SAC second team at the forward position, while Jenkinson earned All-SAC honorable mention honors as a defender.

Elfares, a Hallsberg, Sweden native, finished his 2017 campaign leading the Cobras in goals (six), assists (five), and points (17). The junior's assist total left him in a tie for third in the South Atlantic Conference, while his six goals were good enough for a tie for eighth. His best performance of the season came in a dominant 5-0 victory over Barton, where he tallied one goal and dished out three assists. In addition, Elfares recorded a game-winning goal in a 3-1 victory over Tusculum on Oct. 8.

Elfares is the son of Mona Awdi and Mohammed Elfares and is a physical education major.

Jenkinson, a freshman defenseman, finished his 2017 season with two goals for a total of four points. His solid defensive play helped a stout Cobra defensive unit that only allowed 19 goals on the year, good for the third lowest total in the conference. The Reddish, England native had his best performance of the year against Shaw, where he netted two goals including a game-winner against the Bears.

Jenkinson is the son of Irene and Andy Jenkinson.

"It's a well deserved recognition for both Robbie and Aladdin," said Coker head men's soccer coach Chris Williams. "I am very proud of their effort and application. As players, they know that the cornerstone of our program is hard work and without teammates to support them, these awards would not be achievable. I am looking forward to seeing them grow in the spring."
