Cobras Drop Season Opener at Embry-Riddle

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Coker College men's soccer team fell to the Embry-Riddle University Eagles by a score of 1-0 on Monday (Sept. 4) evening in a non-conference road matchup. 

The opening half would be a defensive battle between the two sides, with both squads firing off two shots each in the opening 45 minutes. The Cobras and Eagles headed into the half tied at zero. 

The Eagles made their push in the beginning stages of the second half, netting their first and lone goal in the 63rd minute to pick up the 1-0 victory. 

Joao Silva and Matt Trimby both fired off one shot on goal in the match, while Justin Walker collected one save between the pipes. 

The Cobras will be back in action on Saturday (Sept. 9) when they return to the friendly confines of the Coker Athletic Field for a 7 p.m. match against Shaw University.
