Cobras Drop Saturday SAC Match to LMU

HARROGATE, TENN. – The Coker College men's soccer team fell to the Lincoln Memorial University Railsplitters by a score of 2-1 in Saturday's South Atlantic Conference road matchup.

LMU struck first, scoring goals in the 10th and 25th minute to take a 2-0 lead into the locker rooms at the half.

Aladdin Elfares cut the deficit in half in the 61st minute, finding the back of the net for the seventh time this season. However, the Cobras were unable to tie the match in the final 29 minutes, securing the 2-1 win for Lincoln Memorial. 

Elfares and Alvaro Urena led the way for the Cobras offensively. Elfares notched two shots on goal and the lone goal for Coker. Urena recorded two shots, one of which was on goal. Jaedon Williamson, Steffen Husum and Connor Norton-Baker all logged shots as well.

In goal, Michael Ritterbeck finished with five saves.

The Cobras will be back in action on Wednesday (Oct. 19) for game one of a three-game homestand. Coker will square off against Lenoir-Rhyne University. Opening kick is set for 7 p.m.
