Cobras and Patriots Play to a 1-1 2OT Draw

FLORENCE, S.C. – The Coker College men's soccer team played to a 1-1 double-overtime draw on Saturday (Sept. 5) night against Francis Marion University.

It would be a chippy contest between the local rivals, with 34 fouls being called and four yellow cards handed out.

The Cobras would strike first with a goal in the 32nd minute by freshman Aladdin Elfares off the assist by Jose Herencia.

The Patriots would net a late goal in the 82nd minute to tie things up at 1-1.

Both teams would come up empty during the 20 minutes of overtime, resulting in the 1-1 draw.

Along with Elfares goal, Ian Fellenz recorded two shots on goal, while goalkeeper Kyndle Cobb picked up 12 saves between the pipes.

The Cobras will be back in action on Monday (Sept. 7) as they travel to Chowan for non-conference matchup. Opening kick set for 5 p.m.
