Coker Men's Soccer Building a Relationship in the Community

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – The Coker College men's soccer team has spent its off-season volunteering in the local Hartsville community. The team most recent community service projects has been with the Darlington County Habitat for Humanity.

"Why not get our hands dirty since we play with our feet all the time?" said first-year head coach Chris Williams. "As a team, we just wanted to get into the community and do our part to be great citizens. The work Habitat does is tremendous and allowing us to work alongside them to provide better quality of living for the local community is humbling."

The team has done an assortment of jobs at Habitat, which include painting buildings and installing concrete parking bumpers into the ground. The team plans to collaborate with Habitat the remainder of the year, with the possibility of continuing the volunteering in the 2015-16 academic year.
