Norton-Baker Lifts Coker to 3-2 Double-OT Win Against Brevard

BREVARD, N.C. – Connor Norton-Baker scored the tying and game-winning goals for the Cobras in their 3-2 double-overtime win against Brevard on Saturday (Nov. 1) in South Atlantic Conference men's soccer action.

Norton-Baker sent the game into overtime with a goal in the 76th minute of play with an assist from Chris Martin. Then three minutes and 48 seconds into the second overtime period, Martin and Norton-Baker teamed up again for the game-winner. This time Martin sent a through-ball past the defense that was picked up by Norton-Baker on a breakaway and tapped past the Tornado keeper to give the Cobras the win, 3-2.

Noah Gulley scored Coker's other goal of the match, when he broke through the Brevard defense in the 30th minute of action.

Kyndle Cobb picked up three saves in the net to lead the Coker defense.

The win secures Coker's spot in the SAC Men's Soccer Tournament, which begins on Tuesday (Nov. 4) with the quarterfinals. The Cobras will be the No. 8 seed and they will travel to play the No. 1 seed, which is still to be determined.  An updated schedule will be posted on www.cokercobras.com when it becomes available.
