Strong First Half Gives Coker 3-0 Win

HARTSVILLE, S.C. – A trio of first half goals propelled the Cobras to a 3-0 win over North Greenville on Wednesday night in Conference Carolinas men's soccer action. The win moves regionally ranked No. 10 Coker to 6-1 in league play and 10-3 overall.

Niko Tirkkonen posted the first two goals of the match for the Cobras in the 21st and 40th minutes of the match. The first came off a blast from just inside the penalty box and the second off header. The third goal of the match came off the foot of Eric Stiefield in the 41st minute of the match. All three goals started with spectacular passes from Carlos Recinos, who finished the match with three assists.

James Sweeney made three saves in the goal and picked up his third consecutive shut out, giving him four for the season.

Coker will be back at home for their next match on Saturday (Oct. 20) at 7 p.m. against the Royals of Queens University of Charlotte.
