AIKEN, S.C. – The Coker College men’s soccer team fought hard through two overtime periods to earn a 0-0 tie against USC-Aiken Wednesday night in men's collegiate soccer action.

This makes three straight matches where the Cobras have not allowed a single goal.

Eric Stiefield led Coker’s strikes with three shots, all of which were on goal, while Stephen Scrivens (Tampa, Fla.), Noah Lascell (Myrtle Beach, S.C.) and Tyler Senecal (Mt. Pleasant, N.C.) had three shots apiece as well.

Scott Newby (Leicestershire, UK) led USC Aiken’s attack on the goal taking four shots, two of which were on goal.

James Sweeney (Huntingtown, Md.) recorded five saves in goal for the Cobras recording his third straight shutout, while Derrick Miranda (Riverview, Fla.) made seven saves en route to his first collegiate shutout for the Pacers.

The Pacers outshot the Cobras 21-17 with USC Aiken taking three more shots-on-goal than Coker at 8-5.

The Cobras will now hit the road for a two game road trip starting with a match on Saturday at Belmont Abbey at 4:00 p.m., followed by a match on Monday, September 13 against St. Andrews Presbyterian College  at 5:00 p.m.
